Our Journey to Creating a Better Real Estate Experience in Macedonia

The real estate market in Macedonia has long been full of potential, but it faced challenges that made the process of buying and selling properties less than ideal.

Here’s a peek at how we identified these issues and what we’ve done to improve the real estate journey for everyone involved — from agents to buyers and sellers.

Identifying the Challenges in the Market

Upon investigating the real estate market in Macedonia and meeting with potential buyers in person, we realized that though real estate agents were quite committed to their work, they clearly lacked the much-needed tools and resources to meet the expectations of today's property buyers.

Our research showed that most of the listings lacked just what buyers wanted to see. High-quality photos, detailed descriptions, and clear and accurate yet concise information were largely absent in the listings. This disparity represented a significant barrier to buyers, hence the need to develop better resources.

Some of them felt a lack of consistency in communication. Many were taken to property viewings without any clear or accurate information on what to expect. It made them frustrated and unsure about what was next. However, we knew this wasn't a reflection of agents' efforts but rather a lack of a single platform that could help them deliver a smoother experience.

Our Vision for Imotko

With this in mind, we created Imotko — a platform where buyers and sellers could find reliable listings with clear, accurate details. We wanted to include crucial information like accurate property deeds, points of interest near each listing, and even the sale history (if the property had been sold by any agency previously).

On Imotko, every property listing delivers:

• Detailed descriptions
• High-quality photos
• Accurate information

Our goal was to ensure that people felt confident about their decisions and never felt misled or wasted their time. So, instead of buyers wasting their time every day checking real estate websites for new properties matching their criteria, we took care of that so that they can do the following instead:

• Receive specialized offers from agencies
• Receive notifications:

Supporting Agents and Promoting Transparency

Real estate agents are integral to the property market, and our platform is here to complement their work, not replace it. To further promote transparency and trust, Imotko personally evaluates agencies and awards special badges to those who meet our standards. These badges mean that an agency has been reviewed and verified.

Our Commitment to Buyers and Sellers

Our mission is simple — to make the real estate journey more transparent and professional for everyone involved.

By providing the tools and resources agents need to deliver exceptional service, we aim to simplify the process of buying, selling, and renting properties, creating an effective and reliable marketplace.
